Instagram bots haven’t gotten the best rap lately, with Instagram’s crackdown and subsequent shut down of many good platforms. There’s no need to get disheartened, however. There are still numerous alternatives out there to the likes of Instagress with companies working hard to replace what you thought would be irreplaceable.
The hardest part for you is knowing which ones are worth paying money for and which ones are just going to waste your time.
Let’s take a look at some of the best Instagram bots, ranked in order from best to worst in terms of features and safety.
|Rank||Instagram Bot||More Info|
|1||Social Envy||Click Here|
|2||Follow Adder||Click Here|
But first, let’s answer the question burning on everybody’s lips:
Are these Instagram bots safe?
One of the biggest controversies around Instagram bots is the artificial activation of the bot. Nobody wants their account to be flagged for too much activity – it looks like spam and followers will find your content disingenuous. This is one of the most significant challenges when hunting down a good bot – you want the system to be intelligent enough to grow your following without drawing any negative attention organically. While it can be hard to resist offers that promise to increase your account into internet stardom seemingly overnight, you’ve got to remember that good things take time. The more natural and loyal you want your community to be, the more gradual you have to make your automated actions look.
One more thing to remember before we dive into our reviews is that you want to maintain control. There are bots out there that work remotely and take complete control of organizing the scheduling on your account, and this only increases you risking the security of your page. The more power you can maintain, the better.
This is an organic growth service, which means they will grow your accounts for you. No messing around with Instagram bots!

Follow Adder has worked hard to quickly climb up the ranks and become the best Instagram bot currently on the market. Let’s take a look and see why it’s such a good option:
One of the best aspects of Follow Adder that helps it stand out from the rest is its ability to manage both Instagram and YouTube accounts. It’s no secret that both of these social media giants are easily the most popular ones online, and chances are if you’re someone looking for help automating an Instagram account, you’ve got a YouTube account as well.
It is well known for its great automation of time-consuming tasks like engaging with relevant pages and searching hashtags associated with your page. These are two vital outsourcing tools that you’ll want to have on board with whatever bot you’re working with, so the advantage with Follow Adder is that it covers everything you could want in a bot.
Follow Adder has the software to post on your behalf multiple times a day, saving you time that you could be spending on other aspects of your business. Additionally, while it is doing this, it is also liking and commenting on posts that fall within your niche, actively growing your engagement with the community.
The feature that makes Follow Adder top of the ladder in Instagram bots is its ability to run contests. These days with Instagram pages a dime a dozen; it takes more than just constant engagement with your niche to grow a loyal community – you’ve got to get potential followers attention and give them a good reason to want to subscribe to you. Contests ask page visitors to “like, comment and share to win” which builds your community and increases your chances of having repeat customers, as they’ll come back to your page to see if you’ve got more to give away. Follow Adder monitors who do all three of these tasks and follows up with them, making sure your promotion isn’t wasted.
Lastly, here are some bonus features on offer with Follow Adder:
1. Delayed scheduling, making your posts appear organic.
2. Ability to manually check all automated actions yourself.
3. Server support.
Because it is one of the most hands-on Instagram bots, allowing you to maintain a lot of the control and gives you total transparency around all actions, Follow Adder is one of the best bots on the market and this list.
It gets 5/5 stars from us.
InstaQ is a primary scheduling & botting system that carries all of the essential features we’ve covered so far. Its other advantage is that, like Follow Adder, it is a desktop software which guarantees that most of the control stays in your hands. Let’s take a look at what InstaQ has on offer:
The advantage of having a bot as desktop software means that you have proxy support and a substantial increase in security when it comes to your page and information. You want to remember this and look out for it when choosing the best bot for your page.
InstaQ is helpful for business pages who want to be run on autopilot. Additionally, it scrapes Instagram for information which helps it reach the targeted niche that you’re aiming for.
One notable downside to InstaQ is that it comes with a free trial, but this doesn’t give you access to all of its features – making a free trial seems redundant. Naturally, this means that you can’t get a complete feel for what using the software is like without investing money, which for most people can be quite off-putting. If you’re willing to take the risk, you can choose to sign up from the very beginning and trust that it’s going to be a good bot for your page – but again, with most bots, it’s good to give it a try first to see if it offers everything you need.
For now, however, InstaQ remains a safe option when it comes to bots, and is up there with Follow Adder in security and stability. However, this doesn’t mean it will last forever, and word has it that InstaQ is planning on becoming privatized in the very near future. This will restrict the support it’s able to give its customers.
However, it still gets a 4.5/5 from us.
Coming in at fourth place on the list is FollowingLike. It’s not the best Instagram bot on the market, but it does have its advantages that make it rank on this list. It has a flexibility that is relatively unique, allowing for you to manage multiple social media accounts across the board. While its features are a lot more basic than Follow Adder, it does have the advantage of working with Instagram, Pinterest, Tumbler, and Twitter. Not all bots have this kind of versatility, so it works to its credit.
One thing to be wary of when taking a look at FollowingLike is its website – it can be a bit misleading. It lists all of its features very clearly and plainly to see, except that these features are for different social media platforms. Because they aren’t organized into their separate lists based on which site they belong to, they give an impression that Following Like offers a lot of features – more so than Follow Adder. However, it doesn’t and is merely projecting the different elements it provides for various social media websites.
Another downside to Following Like is that it’s one of the most expensive bots, and it doesn’t offer the option of a free trial, meaning you have to dive right in the deep end and hope that it’s going to work for your pages. Like InstaQ, this can make it reasonably off-putting as its helpful to know exactly what you’re getting into before signing up for a bot – especially if it’s one of the more expensive ones available.
To sum it up, Following Like is an excellent automated bot when it comes to managing a high level of social media accounts. If you’re in charge of dozens and need a bot with the necessary features to maintain all activity, then the price will soon pay itself off. But if you’re a small business that only requires services for one or two accounts, it’s not going to be as helpful as Follow Adder.
Following Like gets 3.5/5 stars from us.
3rd December 2017 – there have been reports that Instazood is unsafe and accounts are getting blocked by Instagram 🙁
Instazood tells it how it is – it’s easy to understand website helps you know exactly what services it has on offer without putting a layer of fluff on everything. It’s a web-based service, however, as opposed to a desktop software, which does have its pros and cons. It focuses on the use of searching and scraping hashtag information, helping you to connect directly with your niche market.
One of Instazood’s main features that help it to stand out on the list is its fantastic support system. It starts out with an incredibly easy to understand tutorial that takes you step-by-step through the process of applying the software to your page. Its customer support is high on the list of quality, allowing you to reach out for help and get an informed response within a day. It also boasts a help center meaning that if it’s too urgent to wait a few hours, you can usually find the answer you’re looking for on your own.
The advantages of Instazood being a web-based application is the increased security. Web-based applications mean you can avoid any downloads, which run the risk of infecting your computer with unwanted viruses. This makes it run faster, and the software is more efficient. The downside of having this web-based application is that you have to relinquish more control than you would have if it were downloaded. However, weighing up the pros and cons, if you’re happy to give up some of the power for a higher speed and efficiency, then this is a great alternative.
Instazood has monthly subscriptions, which can be potentially pricey, but it doesn’t work out to be more expensive than other bots mentioned. Their most basic package is very affordable considering the features it offers. They also offer a free three-day trial for the most basic Instagram bot, which is great for trying it out before you commit to any monthly costs.
Instazood falls behind Follow Adder because it doesn’t offer bonus features that its counterparts do, which doesn’t make it the most attractive Instagram bot available. However, it is incredibly affordable and ideal for somebody who is just starting out with automated systems and wants to see how basic bot services work in with their Instagram page.
We rate it 3/5 stars.
Our final say on Instagram bots
There are many alternatives to Instagress (now defunct).
It’s good to take each review with a grain of salt and remember that it is an ever-changing, fluctuating market with improvements and new systems appearing regularly. This means that you should make sure that your dollar is stretching as far as it can and that you have access to all the bots improved and new features as it continues to develop.
It’s also highly recommended to try before you buy and wherever possible take advantage of the free trials that most automated bots offer. There’s a good reason they offer this, and it gives you the benefit of knowing exactly what you’re going to pay for before you have to pay for it. This is especially helpful considering there are quite some options out there, which can potentially make it difficult to choose – but if you know and can experience first hand what it’s like to work with each one, you’ll have a much better chance of selecting the right one in the end.
Choosing a bot to automate your Instagram and other social media activity can be the answer you’re looking for when it comes to promoting your business online. Just remember to make sure it’s safe, secure and has everything you want in an automated Instagram bot.
